Thread: Upgrade has erased ALL my documents/pix - how do I restore


i have been using ubuntu while on computer use work (i freelance consultant) , have been totally thrilled how easy use...until today!

set latest set of updates install on friday usual - walked away , didn't think more of it.

when logging on today, have discovered updates have wiped files (documents , pictures) computer.

please!

need restore computer settings had on friday - have lost work august , not able bill clients without.

of course, should have backed do, memory stick, on past couple of weeks have been super-busy , haven't had time so, bad points me!

if there's can help, please please in touch - going crazy here, , on verge of lot of tears!!!

the first thing boot ubuntu live cd , navigate home folder on hard disk (which should show drive in computer) , files.

doubt update erase files should appear via live cd, can them thumb drive , try figure out going on.
