Thread: Quit my job and go for Phd?


at moment have job getting ~55k per year.
working on master's @ moment (have 2 semesters go before finish).

yesterday, professor asked me if can quit job , become full-time student. got award , wants me work on project next 3 years. way, award wiill cover tuition , able finish phd in 3 years. payed, 12k year, not lot.

should keep job? or go full-time student award?

the real question is, want start making money soon, or rather able introduce dr. "kdar"? if ego demands have title, go it.

depends on want career. if want become professor, you'll need doctorate; however, in private industry (at least in usa) experience trumps level of higher education. working in private industry, may setting self many years getting phd.

depends on if have debt related education point. in long run, paying off whatever debt have possible results in more money later. putting off paying down on debts several years may more costly increase in income might phd.

phd in anyway? important factor.

hi, if developing platform independent software in linux using gtk+/gtkmm , you've managed cross compile windows, guide you. i'm posting because after researching topic myself, encountered many posts people have abandoned gtk+/gtkmm wxwidgets because of gtks ugly default appearance in windows/wine. gtk+ themeable in windows/wine gnome. have set correctly . . . here's how. guide gtkmm gtk+ similar. (1) firstly, download , install gtkmm windows using wine. Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
