Illustrator CC Open and Save File windows crashing repeatedly


i'm having incredibly frustrating time illustrator cc. open , save file crashes either or when click on folder specify file save or open location. i'm running mavericks on mac, , have feeling that's culprit. updated app yesterday hoping that might fix problem, has gotten worse.
work stacking on me , it's challenging not able save/open/export files.

i've checked indesign, photoshop, , premier , same problem exists of programs well.

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
