Thread: lxde cannot install some programs


ubuntu 12 lts lxde

programs fx google earth deb installer, cannot install in lxde
logging unity instead, installing runs , program can
used in lxde

q: common error?

hmm.. haven't heard of before..

have tried running terminal?

sudo ./package.deb

have direct terminal folder .deb located

suck as:
open terminal
type: cd downloads

in downloads folder.

type: sudo ./package.deb

might try right click on package --> proberties --> permission , make sure file executable

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
