Thread: tasksel, installing LAMP

hi,
tasksel not working properly. in site (http://www.unixmen.com/install-lamp-...erick-meerkat/) steps installing lamp 1 command (sudo tasksel) explained. i'm having trouble in first step: when enter
code:
sudo tasksel
command line, tasksel shows 1 line @ software selection:
__________________________________________________ ____
choose software install:
[ ] manual package selection
<ok>
__________________________________________________ ____

one, no more available selections. according site, here, must ([ ] lamp), there no such line. can solve problem? thanks.

@ first time, when used 'sudo tasksel' there 3 selection-lines (first , second checked , third 1 not unchecked). unchecked first , second , selected third 1 , hit <ok>... maybe, here, made mistake ...

commands (such
code:
lsb_release -a; echo; apt-cache policy tasksel
) give:
no lsb modules available.
distributor id: ubuntu
description: ubuntu 12.04 lts
release: 12.04
codename: precise

tasksel:
installed: 2.88ubuntu9
candidate: 2.88ubuntu9
version table:
*** 2.88ubuntu9 0
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

i use package manager install packages. there few needed. i've never had luck tasksel @ time on years.

lamp, you've got linux , perl installed, need install apache , mysql (or alternately nginx , postgresql). packages apache2, mysql-client , mysql-server should trick. perl, python included default if that's want. package php5 give php.
