Thread: Question about Ubuntu Software Center


i have question ubuntu software center:

shouldn't display applications ppas have added list?

example: wanted install "acroread". not find anywhere in ubuntu software center. opened terminal , typed "sudo apt-get install acroread" , worked.

if worked, means have access it, right? doesn't mean should appear in software center?

must not getting something.

the software center not display software installed on system. far know, software listed , sources ubuntu repositories, not add on own.

try installing , using synaptic see installed software , related repositories. ubuntu tweak useful.

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
