Thread: Absolute Brightness doesn't change: Classic Macbook


hello! i'm not sure if in right support category, here can me out.

on classic macbook, running ubuntu 12.04. when use brightness keys, little window pops in upper-right hand corner of screen, , changes. also, file /sys/class/backlight/apple_backlight/brightness change when attempt change brightness. however, file /sys/class/backlight/apple_backlight/absolute_brightness stays constant @ 15. how can make file "absolute_brightness" changes file "brightness" does?

it not change on current apple hardware, have following everytime @ console:

 xrandr --output lvds --brightness 0.8
change last value hurts less eyes.

imac auto-brightness not work also.

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
