Potential problems sharing files on a network drive?

we have 2 lightroom users work on same set of photos located on network drive. each user have own lightroom catalog , edits, collections etc. again not sharing same catalog.

 

will approach work or encouter problems?

i think general advice doesn’t work. users have tried dropbox , had serious file conflicts. need dedicated multi-user software solution.
