Adobe Reader triggers discrete graphics when 'signing' Mac OS X

g'day,

when launch adobe reader on macbook pro , load document, click on 'sign' triggers discrete graphics chip.  remains active after closing document. if kill adobe reader application, graphics defaults integrated.

as typically load , sign , close document keep reader running.  in battery mode, drain power faster , i'd appreciate advice on how avoid it, or workaround - rather killing application every time.

adobe reader 11.0.04

mac osx 10.9

15" retina macbook pro (late-2013)

regards,

jason.

have checked apple forums well? loads of people reporting battery issues mavericks on there, though unrelated this, i'm sure. don't know cause switch reader. perhaps 1 of hardware gurus @ apple would.
