Thread: Ubuntu Freezes every few seconds when installing

i'm having problem ubuntu freezes every few seconds, open windows go dark , changes don't register. happens when installing packages, or when watching videos.

example, if decided install program through software center , while installing if decided browse internet, window showing software center go dark every few seconds. also, other window not update , freeze periodically until program installing done.

using ubuntu , installed through windows 7. here specs. of machine:

amd quad core processor @ 3.0ghz
8 gb ram
geforce 260 gt

behaviour normal?

the window going dark means process presently running not moving smoothly.

specs it's not lack of memory or slow computer. may due fact you're running ubuntu win 7. i'm not quite sure of i've read somewhere prgm running in windows gets limited amount of memory assigned os avoid crashing of syst. may due fact ubuntu may not getting ample memory required run it's processes.

again i'm telling i'm not quite sure above advice.
