Thread: To partition, or not?


hello everyone,

i've decided take plunge , install ubuntu. however, i'm gamer. need keep windows around running games don't linux (ea, i'm looking @ you).

means need install ubuntu alongside windows. leaves me 2 options: either create partition on hard drive ubuntu, or buy second hard drive , install ubuntu on it. i'm having trouble deciding path best.

part of me wants second hard drive. after all, what's point of having 4 hard drive bays if don't use them, right? right?

on other hand, if there's no real advantage setting second hard drive, why bother? create partition.

of out of way, please provide basic rundown of pros , cons of partitioning vs. second drive? or flat out make recommendation. that's cool too.

better 2 harddrives. @ least if 1 fail, can work linux or windows.

hi, if developing platform independent software in linux using gtk+/gtkmm , you've managed cross compile windows, guide you. i'm posting because after researching topic myself, encountered many posts people have abandoned gtk+/gtkmm wxwidgets because of gtks ugly default appearance in windows/wine. gtk+ themeable in windows/wine gnome. have set correctly . . . here's how. guide gtkmm gtk+ similar. (1) firstly, download , install gtkmm windows using wine. Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
