Thread: Wallpaper changer that works

i installed xubuntu 12.04 on laptop , looking wallpaper changer works. tried ones in software center , none of them work @ all. doing wrong? tried variety, wally, wallch, slidewall. none of them work @ all. i'm sure doing wrong. please asdise how can 1 of screensavers work. thanks!!

with respect wallpaper changer, try this:

1. in settingsmanager -> desktop, select "image list" option , add image list, wallpapers want cycle.

2. create cron entry reload xfdesktop (which in turn change wallpaper random 1 in list created in step #1. so, in terminal window, enter following command:

crontab -e

...and use arrow keys go bottom of file , add following line:

*/15 * * * * display=:0.0 xfdesktop --reload > /dev/null 2>&1

...note, /15 refers change frequency time - in example above, cycle every 15 minutes. make cycle example every 5 minutes, "/5" instead.

then, save file:
- ctrl+x
- y
- <press enter key>

please asdise how can 1 of screensavers work.
