Thread: Backup encrypted home header and keys?


i have system76 lemur ultra thin (lemu4) running ubuntu 12.04.1 64 bit long term service. chose encrypt /home , /swap partitions during livecd installation process.

know if possible backup encrypted home header file(s) , key(s) similar using luks header backup option. in plain english, want able boot off of livecd , mount encrypted /home partition in case of emergency or disaster , make backup of keys , header files if possible.

how do this?

record, using deja dup backup of /home partition. know best practice method , should suffice in case of disaster or emergency, curious whether possible make additional backup of headers , keys encrypted /home partition or not.

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
