Thread: Setting Up a Windows 8/Ubuntu 11.10 Dual Boot Without Wubi?


hey guys.
have windows 8 running on hpg62 notebook. had ubuntu 11.10 running via wubi install. uninstalled , want full install. have 500gb internal hardrive. want windows take 200gb , ubuntu 100gb , want have 200gb storage partition. know how of this. confuses me this: need swap partition. , also, need install additional bootloader boot menu? or ubuntu automatically when install. doing shrinking windows partition t0 200gb , using 100 ubuntu. easy installing ubuntu 100gb unallocated space? , boot loader automatically installed?
if guys appreciated.

hi, if developing platform independent software in linux using gtk+/gtkmm , you've managed cross compile windows, guide you. i'm posting because after researching topic myself, encountered many posts people have abandoned gtk+/gtkmm wxwidgets because of gtks ugly default appearance in windows/wine. gtk+ themeable in windows/wine gnome. have set correctly . . . here's how. guide gtkmm gtk+ similar. (1) firstly, download , install gtkmm windows using wine. Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
