i complete newbie linux having been mac user whole life please kind take first steps few questions.....

1. should go prebuilt pc , convert or build own scratch (happy this)

2. being user of photoshop/final cut etc.. spec should for?

3 if build own what's best website walk me through process , tell me parts need?

hope can mac dead , have little money after being made redundant.

depends on there no general answer in opinion, although might hard find - there choices pcs without windows (lenovo e.g.) , saves few bucks too.

2. being user of photoshop/final cut etc.. spec should for?
first of all: should know there no native client photoshop or final cut, have run them under wine. , presume coming mac not happy solution.

confident ps , fc suggest should consider mac or windows machine , go run ubuntu on try out. @ least have choice witch preferred os.
have tried ubuntu usb stick or installed on mac before?

hi, if developing platform independent software in linux using gtk+/gtkmm , you've managed cross compile windows, guide you. i'm posting because after researching topic myself, encountered many posts people have abandoned gtk+/gtkmm wxwidgets because of gtks ugly default appearance in windows/wine. gtk+ themeable in windows/wine gnome. have set correctly . . . here's how. guide gtkmm gtk+ similar. (1) firstly, download , install gtkmm windows using wine. (you have if have cross compiled app windows) https://live.gnome.org/gtkmm/mswindows (2) run these commands create proper directory structure. Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
