Thread: compiz crash => have to cut current of computer


my ubuntu 10 crashes (every 2 hours) , have cut current solve it. nothing works during system crash. ctrl+alt+delete, ctrl shift escape, kill process, force quit, nothing works cutting current of system long pressing on/off key.

happens during switching of windows compiz window ring switcher, , during rotating of desktops compiz rotate cube. animations +extra animations opening , closing windows on. without happened. rotating cube bottleneck. set off ring switcher , animations, still happens rotating cube. disabled options of compiz few months ago speed computer (dual core 1.7 & 2gb ram) , reenabled features ring switcher, rotate cube, negative screen, snap windows. uninstalled compiz now, hope computer alive next time starts again. because compiz makes big changes. maybe virus because of ppa 's (automatic updates). copy terminal commands found on internet terminal , run it. maybe because of that.



solution without upgrading ubuntu 12?

i had upgrade ubuntu 12 because of compiz crash.

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
