Thread: 12.04 Installation Crash/Freeze


for past week have tried many different things ubuntu 12.04 onto shuttle pc can't seem it. problem when boot ubuntu 12.04 cd/dvd/usb (i've tried of them more once) freezes either few minutes booting or right near end of installation. doesn't seem make difference if install ubuntu or try ubuntu, still freezes completely.

i've switched around memory, put different memory modules in, different keyboard , mouse... no luck, same issue! doesn't make difference if 64bit or 32bit. i've downloaded , checked .iso countless times, burned many dvd's cd's , tried various usb's... i've left computer few hours see if decides anything... nothing.

tried 11.10, same issue! thought i'd try install 10.04 64bit, installed no problem, upgraded 12.04, same issue upon installation! getting tired of going round , round in circles! can't seem find solution... thing yet try new graphics card, need anyway hdmi port.

computer spec:
shuttle sd37p2 v2 barebones
intel core 2 quad q6600 2.4ghz
4gb ddr2 667mhz ram
asus ati radeon hd 3450 256mb
seagate 250gb hdd

i'm looking @ getting msi ati radeon hd 5450 1gb graphics card replacement

in advance suggestions, we'll there eventually!

10.04 can used year more, not lost.

did try alternate 12.04 iso , development version (12.10)?

hi, if developing platform independent software in linux using gtk+/gtkmm , you've managed cross compile windows, guide you. i'm posting because after researching topic myself, encountered many posts people have abandoned gtk+/gtkmm wxwidgets because of gtks ugly default appearance in windows/wine. gtk+ themeable in windows/wine gnome. have set correctly . . . here's how. guide gtkmm gtk+ similar. (1) firstly, download , install gtkmm windows using wine. Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
