Thread: upon opening, Power Statistics window is blank (12.04)


upon opening, window titled "power statistics - device history" blank.
in terminal, gnome-power-statistics doesn't result in output.

i've realized problem not occur after fresh login, logging out , logging in fixes it.

various programs seem trigger problem (gimp, firefox, dillo).
scratch that. it's loading upon first attempt, never loads on second attempt.

if don't want have blank window,
  1. do not close gnome power statistics using cross(x) @ top.
  2. use close button @ bottom close application.


if have blank window , want have application running appropriately then
  1. open terminal (in ubuntu ctl +alt + t).
  2. type command: ps -a | grep gnome-power.
  3. you process gnome-power-sta.
  4. note pid @ left side. in case pid 5051.
  5. then type command:kill pidvalue . in case : kill 5051.


can re-open gnome-power-statistics , statistics without logout , login.

hello! i'm trying setup software raid on server, fail @ first step: code: root@sandnabba:/root# mdadm -c /dev/md0 -c512 -l5 /dev/sdc1 /dev/sdd1 /dev/sde1 mdadm: no raid-devices specified. what doing wrong!? are sure -c equivalent --create? also, think need space after -c , -l options, value shouldn't command, or should have = between. @ man pages mdadm , double check spelling. Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
