How to cut out part of an image


i have logo else created. when bring in illustrator (cc) parts of red. , inside red there white parts. want white parts gone... background show through (i.e., not red). have done in past using "minus front" in pathfinder. it's not working. converted png, i'm guessing has how expanded it? i'm not sure. advice appreciated, isn't first time has happened me. it's need learn do!

did redraw or image trace (and lifted ban, sorry clipping mask)?

 

otherwise, afraid still raster, , easier deal in photoshop.

 

but layers palette or document info palette should tell.

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
