Thread: Java driving me crazy!


hello gentlemen having issue java , have been days now. trying run .jar program (obviously) , nothing happends. when run java -jar jarfile.jar print out. unsupportedclassversionerror: project1/mainproject : unsupported major.minor version 51.0.

have tried uninstalling openjdk6 , reinstalling. have tried installing openjdk7 , without jdk6. have tried oasisjava 7u5. nothing has worked me far. thank future efforts.

as understand it, " unsupported major.minor version 51.0" means jar compiled java 7 , attempting run earlier jdk, presumably 6.

if have java 7 jdk installed and
code:
java -version
shows 1.7something, then
code:
 java -jar jarfile.jar
should work, if
code:
java -version
does not show 1.7something, jar won't work.

if doesn't work java 7 jdk, post version string (using above command). jar downloadable somewhere? come requirement instructions?

hi, if developing platform independent software in linux using gtk+/gtkmm , you've managed cross compile windows, guide you. i'm posting because after researching topic myself, encountered many posts people have abandoned gtk+/gtkmm wxwidgets because of gtks ugly default appearance in windows/wine. gtk+ themeable in windows/wine gnome. have set correctly . . . here's how. guide gtkmm gtk+ similar. (1) firstly, download , install gtkmm windows using wine. Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
