Thread: After autoremove, compiz stopped working on reboot


hey, all. running 64-bit precise pangolin/unity, , earlier today used "autoremove" command clean things bit. turns out should not have done that. apparently, autoremove removes bit much, , think happened in case today. upon rebooting, compiz failed launch, did unity. after googling around help, found suggestion @ linuxmint forum solved problem.

anyhow, here's did:

sudo aptitude safe-upgrade
it installed 150 mb of software. rebooted , normal. sorry didn't take time document specifics, wanted share @ least in general terms worked me.

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
