Thread: Using a second hard drive for storage/programs?


i'm running ubuntu 12.04 on system has 2 hard drives. os (ubuntu) installed on 1 150gb drive , have 300gb drive use programs (x-plane).

i've been able second drive recognized in disk utility still can't listed available location installation when use x-plane installer.

using gparted to format drive (ext4) didn't problem either. drive show mounted , listed in “my computer”.

have ideas on i'm doing wrong?

when shows mounted, careful. partitions show in nautilus in left side menu, not mounted ones. best check if it's mounted with:
df -h

list mounted partitions , mount points (except swap).

otherwise, if have configured mount @ mount point, should available there. not sure if show default destination programs or need select it, should @ mount point.

how mounting it, using entry in /etc/fstab?

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
