Thread: Questions about VGA passthrough


i'd set vm , assign discrete vga (pci-e) , possibly soundcard.
understanding after reading days it, xen best solution that. before buy wrong/unnecessary hardware , i'd have point cleared possibly had deal issues.
questions are:
1-can use integrated vga (intel sandy bridge) dom0 (the ubuntu installation) , discrete 1 domu (in case, windows 7 virtualized in vm)? read xen can assign primary graphic adapter (defined 1 start system) , not second one, seems bit weird. maybe musnderstood.

2-a big issue (apparently, unless misunderstood) have assign physically number of cores domu won't utilized dom0, , permanently (since domu start every time start dom0 automatically). isn't possible make 2 machines share cpu resources dinamically (menaning allocating 100% of whole cpu resources, based on contingent needs of 1 or other?)

3-can same @ question number 2 applied ram?

questions kvm:

a-did tried vga-passthrough kvm debian/ubuntu/mint? yes, know guide it? far found 1 ,but it's based on fedora (which might not different ubuntu, still..)


b-do preoblems relative point 1, 2 , 3 apply kvm too?

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
