Ctrl+Space (Move Tool) : Erratic behaviour?

ok, i've been searching net hour , can't find solution anywhere, i'm coming here backup.

i've been using ctrl+space shortcut while , particular issue plaguing me since cs4 (scrubby/animated zoom introduction).

usually, use ctrl+space while on move tool smooth-pan around in zoomed in document. sometimes, zoom document entirely out , allow me drag kind of marquee representing size of zoomed view can move around if using navigator. if happens , not let go space key, can zoom entirely out , in @ will.

it happens when toggle hastily between zoom tool , move tool while zooming, panning (back , forth) document lot must make weird combination unwillingly (something z+space or v+space maybe).

anybody knows happening? i've tried combinations of modifiers , can't trigger feature willingly.

it's pretty annoying expecting pan away , instead being zoomed out entirely. feels confusing... entity sucking me way sky without warning, tossing me on ground somewhere didn't expect be.

thanks.

edit:

ok i've found kind of trail:

temporarily zoom image

  1. hold down h key, , click in image , hold down mouse button. current tool changes hand tool, , image magnification changes follows:
    • if entire image fit within document window, image zooms in fit window.

    • if portion of image visible, image zooms out. drag zoom marquee magnify different part of image.
  2. release mouse button , h key. image returns previous magnification , tool.

seems combination of keys leaks feature: if hold out h while dragging mouse, gives out exact same behaviour try avoid in case, happens when press space.

if understands why space key behaves h key erratically, i'd appreciate it.

it sounds might talking spring pan , zoom, uses h key, , not have done inadvertantly doing.  still cool tip though. if zoome right in, hold down h key , drag, , gives sort of full screen navigator tool.
