Thread: How to change icon in custom launcher


i'm running ubuntu 12.04 cinnamon desktop environment.

i've had create custom desktop launcher crashplan. unfortunately, launcher--for reason--has incorrect icon, change.

unfortunately again, i've not been able figure out how change icon. appreciate help.

in advance , suggestions.

well, discovered i'd used incorrect method of establishing custom launcher.

should have done, , works, following:

right-click on menu (in left-hand corner of panel) , select "edit menu". in resulting "main menu" window, pick preferred category of applications (in case, "system tools"). opens sub-window, in click on "new item". fill in slots appropriate.

next, identify location of icon want use. double-click on icon image in new item window. open still window, , in window can go location of desired icon; highlight it; , choose "open".

finally, close main menu window. new item appear when choose menu panel. if want copy of launcher appear on desktop, right-click on launcher icon , select "add desktop."

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
