Thread: External monitor not showing video and mouse pointer messed up


pointer looks , work fine on laptop when connect external monitor appears there shaking, square shape. videos not showing either.

laptop hp 2133:
graphic card: via technologies, inc. cn896/vn896/p4m900, chrome 9 hc.
system: lubuntu 12.04

think graphic problem can't find drivers card , system. have xserver-xorg-video-openchrome , disper installed.
did not have problem lubuntu 11.10.

ideas?

i able nice pointer:


since lubuntu/ubuntu not have xorg.conf file generated (1) , modify 1 debian website (2) (http://wiki.debian.org/installingdebianon/hp/hp2133 )


1) generate xorg.conf:


press ctrl+alt+f1 (to switch text terminal)


login


sudo service lightdm stop (to stop desktop environment)


sudo xorg -configure (to configure xorg.conf, put file in home direction)


sudo cp home/username/xorg.conf.new /etc/x11/xorg.conf (in username put user name) (to copy created file location system recognise , use it)


sudo service lightdm start (to start desktop environment)




2) modify xorg.conf:


go http://wiki.debian.org/installingdebianon/hp/hp2133 in section resources attachments there xorg.conf file contents, select , copy it. (ctrl+c copy selected)


open terminal


sudo leafpad /etc/x11/xorg.conf (to open xorg.conf modification)


ctrl+a (to select all)


delate (to delele selected)


ctrl+v (to past copied earlier file)


save , close file.


restart computer.

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
