hi ,
keep this
so advice or workaround recover ubuntu or / , fix initramfs wil wasted.
files recovery , boot ubuntu live cd/usb , can recover many files want.
open nautilus command terminal (ctrl+alt+t)
, can copy (files ubuntu or vista) external usb or hdd.code:gksudo nautilus
if don't have live session ubuntu , can make 1 within vista unetbootin program.
1)grab .iso here --> http://releases.ubuntu.com/12.04/
2)grab unetbootin here --> http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
3) burn .iso usb stick (at least 2gb) unetbootin.
4) boot usb (configure bios or press 'one boot key' select device).
if laptop incapable boot usb , need cd . same steps shouldn't use unetbootin cd burning program instead.
