Numbering images based on their position in a document

hello,

 

is possible give images automatic number based on position in document.

for example: have 3 images a, b , c. place them in order = 1, b = 2 , c = 3.

change mind , move image b front.

i want numbers change b=1, a=2 , c=3, doesn't happen.

i have same problem if insert image d between , b. want numbers change a=1, d=2,b=3 , c=4, number of new image becomes 4.

i can't find solution problem. can me out?

a paragraph style numbering option turned on , applied figure text close can solution. not quite thorough framemaker in regard, isn't bad general document construction. once hundreds , thousands of pages of illustrated figures, becomes lot of time , human management.
