Thread: cannot set up dual monitors in ubuntu 12.04


after upgraded 12.04 dual monitors stopped work. after try set id settings/display error:

selected configuration displays not applied: required virtual size not fit available size: requested=(3840, 1080), minimum=(320, 200), maximum=(1920, 1920)

failed apply configuration: %s gdbus.errorrg.gtk.gdbus.unmappedgerror.quark._gnome_2drr_2der ror_2dquark.code3: required virtual size not fit available size: requested=(3840, 1080), minimum=(320, 200), maximum=(1920, 1920)

if try edit in amd catalyst control center (i run command gksu amdcccle) this:

tried restore xorg.conf many times , start on did not help. have ati radeon hd 3450 video card , ati/amd proprietary fglrx driver installed.

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
