Thread: How to run Dual Monitors on 2008 Macbook Pro?


i trying second monitor connect 2008 macbook pro laptop running ubuntu. have gone nvidia-settings , chosen run second monitor separate x-server , after reboot can display white screen cursor black x.

using nvidia driver version 295.49 if help.

notice in general ubuntu displays, have yet see monitor detected.

appreciate in matter. thanks!

i having same problem also. able running going xserver , choosing twin view, makes 1 monitor, external primary. saved configuration recognizes monitor whenever connected. have log out , in take effect. thing im having trouble video play full screen on external. reason, still recognizes laptop primary , goes full screen there. hope helps!

Thread: Twinview issues

hi all, recovered white screen of death having reinstalling nvidia drivers via command line in recovery mode. when rebooted after that, fine, except 1 of monitors not displaying anything. ran sudo nvidia xconfig, created conf file me, issue not resolved. in x server settings, secondary monitor (the 1 not displaying), detected , enabled in twinview, resolution not detected , screen black. if try switching workspaces, little window showing workspaces show second monitor sitting next monitor, same in x server settings. options have resolving this? lot!
