Thread: How does Sorcerer do tarball patches?

quoted wikipedia article:
when new source required , older source downloaded, sorcerer download tiny patch transforms old source tarball current source tarball.
i curious how possible. sorcerer's website mentions downloads source code straight source.

impression somehow diff generated on internet without having download whole thing on again. having generate diff impractical because version of old source unknown. have store diffs updating 0.1 1.0, 0.2 1.0, etc.

so, (generate diff of 2 files, 1 local, 1 remote) possible? , how done?
